Incredible opportunity to help share the Gospel of Torah!!

I really am overwhelmed and excited aboutUganda Pastorsthe numerous opportunities to share and support others sharing Torah that have recently opened up to us.  This is easily the best one yet!!

Dr. David Sloss, PhD., friend and fellow sojourner, is the leader of Baraka International Ministries, based out of Meaford, Ontario, Canada.  For the last three or four years he has been traveling back and forth to Uganda teaching a number of pastors the Hebraic root of our faith.  Additionally, he has been helping those fellowships grow in self sufficiency through poultry and tomato projects.

He is traveling back to Uganda in late April to lead a pastor’s conference where nearly 100 pastors from Uganda and Kenya will meet to learn more about Torah and our Messiah, and we can help!!  [Stop and consider how exciting it is when we can lead a friend into the truth of Torah…  Now, ponder how exciting it is to lead a pastor…  or 100 pastors, effectively leading the charge in transforming a region and potentially a continent!!  I can barely sleep at night!] Continue reading

Sen. Marco Rubio Delivers Blistering Speech on Obama’s Assault on Israel | FULL

Those who stand against Israel will pay an extraordinarily high price.  The President of these United States continues to show his true colors as a terrorist sympathizer.  Senator Marco Rubio, here, boldly calls him out on this grave error that will cost the US as the Almighty will retaliate!

As for me and my house, we not only stand with Israel, but would gladly help to defend her!

Beulah Land, Some Thoughts

The song keeps running through my head and is a beautiful lilting melody.

Beulah Land

I’m kind of homesick for a country
To which I’ve never been before.
No sad goodbyes will there be spoken
for time won’t matter anymore.

(Chorus)
Beulah Land, I’m longing for you
and some day on thee I’ll stand.
There my home shall be eternal.
Beulah Land — Sweet Beulah Land

I’m looking now across the river
where my faith will end in sight.
There’s just a few more days to labor.
Then I will take my heavenly flight.

The lyrics need some mild adjustment, though.  Isaiah tells us exactly where Beulah Land is, and a rapturous flight is not necessary unless El Al is really that good.

Urgent: Help Purchase A School!

In my email this morning from Ken Rank:

Folks, forgive me for asking again, but I feel I should. Our congregation is looking to buy a surplus school that has been abandoned in our county in favor of larger in-town schools. This building would give us the opportunity to have the doors open every day and be able to hold seminars, conferences, offer classes in Hebrew, Koine Greek, Hermeneutics, Linguistics, Semiotics, early Hebrew culture, and more which are not generally taught to those within the faith.

The vision we have for this school is to provide a place that through on site teaching as well as through video and audio recordings made available to the masses (including live streams), we might present a balanced and reasoned approach to our walk. We understand that we cannot bring peace to anyone when we are divisive and without peace ourselves. We only have until Tuesday to place our bid, God has blessed us with many donations and we are close to the number we believe we need to secure this building for this use. We have already bid on it once, was the high (and only) bidder, but the bid was rejected for being too low. They have reopened the bidding and this is our last chance, we know the school board has received at least one other bid on the school. If you can see this vision as worthwhile, I am asking if you consider supporting it. We have created a 501C3 for the school (not the congregation) so any donation is tax deductible and NONE of us receive any financial compensation from our work. 100% of any money will go into the purchase of the building and its upkeep. Many blessings to you and thank you!

The information to donate is at the bottom of the attached story, which you might enjoy reading.

Again, thanks!

Sunday School, P.11 Prov. 28:9 & Jesus on Mt. Sinai

What a terrific fun week as we studied together at Lexington First Baptist!!  It started with a BANG!  The file on my thumb drive wouldn’t load…  Good story on the audio!

We began with a short meditation on Proverbs 28:9,

He who turns away his ear from listening [shama] to the law [Torah], even his prayer is an abomination.

The balance of our time together was considering Who met with Moshe on Mt. Sinai.  Was Jesus on Mt. Sinai?  We considered many of the pieces/references that connect dots.  Many of the parts refer to earlier lessons in this series, and each is expanded in the original lessons, here used to put the building blocks together.  This will bless you and help pull the ‘front half’ and the ‘back half’ of the Book together!!

Powerpoint for this lesson:   Yeshua on Mt Sinai

The Triple-Locked Door in the Basement of Christianity

door (1)

[Reposted with permission, by Peter Vest of Orthodox Messianic Judaism]

I can still remember the moment when the locked door was opened.  Though the book was imperfect, David Stern’s “Restoring the Jewishness of the Gospel” contained a very simple idea–an idea that destabilized my own personal Christianity:

Jewish outreach requires opening one’s eyes to the valuable, native Jewish context of the Gospel.

In short, true Jewish outreach must change the outreacher.

But, as I said, there are serious flaws in that book.  One minute Stern says the Gospel must be separated from its original context so that the spread of the Gospel to other cultures will be “unencumbered”:

“…[A]s soon as the early Messianic Jews began reaching out to Gentiles, it was necessary to separate the Gospel from its cultural context, so that its essential message would not be encumbered with cultural baggage unnecessary for salvation,” Stern, Messianic Jewish Manifesto, pg. 241.

The next minute Stern says Gentiles need this Jewish context which has become obscured:

“What Type IV Evangelism requires is not a Gentilized Gospel contextualized for Jews, but a restoration of the Jewishness which is in fact present in the Gospel but which has become obscured.  Moreover, Gentile Christians too need aspects of the Gospel which a restoration of its Jewishness will bring them,” Stern, Messianic Jewish Manifesto, pg. 249.

Talk about a mixed message!

But as I’ve matured in the Messianic faith I’ve come to realize that there is a door in the basement of Christianity.  What is this doorway?  It is your eyes Continue reading

The Deuteronomy 13 Test (Remastered)

Such an awesome teaching detailing exactly why Christians make near zero headway in taking the Gospel to the Jew first!  This should be shared with every single believer on the planet.  Very well done…  especially the remastered version!

Sunday School, P.10 Moedim & Who is the Redeemer?

This week was number 10 in the series.

We opened with a few thought provoking Scriptures concerning Yehovah’s appointed times.  His Calendar.  Much more could be said, but the idea was simply to get our class thinking about Passover, a short four weeks away.

Next, we began a series within the series where we will invest a couple of weeks considering some of the shared titles of Yeshua and Yehovah, thus confirming yet again their ‘echad’ nature and the fact that Yeshua CANNOT undo or overturn that which the Father has done.  In this beginning, we look at Who the Redeemer is.  Christendom dwells on Jesus (Yeshua) as the Redeemer, while Judaism and the Tanakh point to Yehovah as the Redeemer.  Who is right?  What does Scripture say?  What does it mean to be ‘echad?’

Following is the audio and two powerpoint presentations from the class.

Sunday School, P.9 “Heaven is NOT my home” & “The Good Shepherd”

We had some fun this week breaking paradigms and learning what Yeshua meant when He claimed to be the Good Shepherd.  Listen in and find out where Beulah Land is, or what Scripture actually promises as the final dwelling place for those in Messiah.
