Tradition!!
Years ago, my eldest coined the word ‘tradishma’ a mashup of tradition and dogma. What the Church in general and various denomination to greater or lesser degrees have done for 1900 years is meld traditions, many pagan, with a patchwork of manmade rules (dogma) loosely justified by snippets of Scripture.
This is not an easy truth to process, in fact many get rather angry or hurt when they learn this. I know, I did! Proceed for some fireworks!!
Ultimately, though, we are each individually responsible for what Scripture actually says, not what your pastor, seminary professor, or Sunday school teacher told you. You (and I) will stand before the Lawgiver (James 4:12) without any other representative or person to explain away why the Word doesn’t mean what it says.
The lies that come from the Church are numerous, typically rooted in Greco-Roman influence imported by the ‘Church Fathers.’ They fall into several main categories that follow. For each category, I will give a very brief overview and then link multiple articles on this blog that often have pointers to other corroborating information.
The Sabbath NEVER changed!!
Christendom teaches that the weekly day of worship changed. Scripture provides exactly ZERO evidence of a change, and actually upholds that violating the Shabbat is a ‘death penalty’ issue.
