Covenant-Sign-Forever….

I love the YouVersion Bible app for several reasons.  Chief is the ability to take a Scripture, connect it with an image and then share it through multiple channels.  Well, friend Steve King and I swap images all of the time and we constantly play with ways to pose questions that will make people think.

Most of my readers are familiar with my love of showing the inconsistent thought in Christendom concerning Genesis 9:8-17 and Exodus 31:12-17.  Either, we keep the Sabbath or we need to build an Ark.  It doesn’t work any other way.

Here, Steve has captured the whole idea in one easily processed image.  Bravo!

Check out YouVersion and ‘friend’ me.

Update on the Messianic Ministries of Uganda!!

Messianic Uganda

Distribution of Messianic Congregations in Uganda

Recall that several months ago I posted an opportunity to help fledgling Messianic congregations in Uganda through the ministry of Dr. David Sloss and Baraka International Ministries.  Well, there is still much opportunity to help, so I wanted to share two update newsletters I just received from David after his recent teaching trip to Uganda.

I was excited to read of some of the help we were able to send and pray that you can help this ministry as it establishes a firm Torah-pursuant, Yeshua-loving foothold in the heart of Africa!!

Following are links to the newsletters, but first, David’s address should Yehovah lead you to partner in this terrific work!!  Please pray and consider this ministry!

Homogeneity v. Variety

We have dairy goats and one of the wonderful benefits, besides them regarding us as

Coffee 'n' cream...

Coffee ‘n’ cream…

family and their very best friends…, is fresh milk and cheese.  Certainly, the milk is better than anything from the grocery store, but the special joy is cracking open a jug for my coffee and scooping the cream off the top.  Mmmmm.

The reason the cream can rise to the top is because the milk has not been ‘homogenized.’  Homogenization is the process of ‘beating the milk (into submission)’ so that all fat globules are sufficiently broken up to be scattered throughout the milk (if not previously scooped off the top and used for butter or sold as whipping cream). The result is that the milk is the same identical flavor and consistency from the top of the jug to the bottom….  a disappointment if you like the real variety within milk as it occurs naturally.

The key point of the illustration, as I was pondering it upon waking yesterday morning, is the effort and force necessary to homogenize the milk.  It is not done easily or naturally.  The way Yehovah made it, it is milk – with variety, built in.

Recently, I have been pondering how much Yehovah loves variety within the bounds He has created…

Yeshua in the Old City…

Terrific video worth sharing….  Per my second-born, “The time of the Gentiles is drawing to a close!”

Fun, too, to see many places in the Old City that we just toured.

More Aleph-Tav Images and an Update!

I posted another seven of the Aleph-Tav images Bil Sanford of Aleph Tav Scriptures has blessed me with.  Because the page was loading slowly with so many large images, I have elected to post thumbnails and label each image by Scripture reference and group by book.  In this way the I think you can more easily scan and see what you may be looking for, or choose those images that catch you eye…

And, remember:  You can grab links to the larger images and post on facebook, etc to share with friends…  telling them the amazing ‘Aleph-Tav’ story and its mysterious presence more than 9000 times in the Hebrew text.

Here is one of the newest images…

Sunday School, P.22. The Difficult Apostle Paul, P.2 (Galatians 3)

Well, my time guest teaching Sunday School at Lexington Baptist Church is winding down.  Maybe one or two more weeks.  What started as a five or six weeks series has lasted nearly six months and it is about time to turn things back over to the normal teacher and see where Yehovah leads next.

In our last few weeks together, we have been tackling some of the more difficult verses of Paul.  In this lesson an attendee asked me to explain Galatians 3:22-25.  So, with limited time this particular day, I went back and reviewed the critical foundation to rightly understand Paul, then we wrestle with Galatians 3:12-13 and 22-25.

Here is the audio for the lesson and the video is below.  Please feel free to download and/or share!

Sharing with Adat Shalom

One of the fellowships that we represented at the First B’ney Yosef National Congress in DSCN1255Ari’el, Israel, was Adat Shalom of Summerville, SC.  Yesterday we had the blessing of returning to their Shabbat service to give a report on the trip and answer questions.  While the audio recoding is a little soft, it is worth the effort to listen to it!  Kelly had some neat comments and I enjoyed sharing, covering some other territory I have not covered from the Congress, but Adat Shalom also asked some excellent questions that themselves prompted good discussion and interaction.

I pray you take the time to listen, enjoy and be encouraged!!

Here’s the same audio with a little tweaking to up the volume. Not sure exactly what I am doing, so hoping it helps a little…

Macro Photography in Israel

One of my sons has a gift with a camera, so before going to Israel I asked him to teach me a little about macro photography.  Using the couple settings he showed me, I took a number of macro images of wildlife and flowers….  Here are a few for your enjoyment. None are retouched.  All are exactly as they came off of my Nikon Coolpix L830  (purchased refurbished for about $325).  The camera was the real genius…

Go ye therefore…

Yeshua said, “Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations…teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you…”

More and more are waking daily to the need to return to the ancient paths.  The fields indeed are white unto harvest.  Be a reaper, in love, sharing truth everywhere you go!

Shooting Ourselves in the Foot….

Perhaps the very warmest memory I have of our recent trip to Israel was the incredible peace and unity at the First B’ney Yosef Congress.  I really do not remember a single theological debate or discussion.  Surely, between 135 people, Jew and non-Jew, representing 12 different nations from all over the planet, there had to have been some theological differences, but I saw zero manifestation  of disagreement.  Our focus was how to be used of Abba to begin taking steps to bring the Kingdom back together.

Since being back, I have had the joyous task of visiting several congregations and fellowships to report on what we did, discussed, and plan going forward.  One such report to a Sunday school class I have been guest teaching for the last five months was recorded and posted on this blog as part of the ongoing series. Then, this week in that same class I posted the video of us beginning to tackle some of Paul’s seeming ‘hard verses’ concerning obedience to the instructions of our Father.  As part of the introduction to the next couple lessons, I shared several resources for the new Messianic to consider.  More than the lesson itself, it was the resources I mentioned that generated discussion, primarily because neither of the authors (Tim Hegg and JK McKee) agree with the so called ‘Two House movement/theology’ in exactly the same way most attendees of the First B’ney Yosef Congress see Scripture.

***Now, I am NOT calling out anybody or pointing any fingers!***

What I do want to do is make a few observations that will be of value to the larger Messianic Movement, and especially of value for any who are seeking peace and unity for the sake of the Kingdom. Continue reading

Excellent podcast interview explaining ‘Ephraim’

Early this morning I reblogged Al McCarn’s report on the B’ney Yosef Congress that my wife and I just attended in Israel.  I did not have time to view/listen to all of the links, but I absolutely trust Al’s posts and consider him a terrific friend.  Later in the day, while performing some duties at work, I had the opportunity to listen to Al’s podcast with mutual friend Tzefanayh ben Yochanan.  All I can say is, “Wow!  what an excellent explanation of Ephraim and what we are seeing happening all around us!”

Please, take the time to listen to this interview.  You may find it especially helpful with friends who do not understand ‘Ephraim’ or what the connection is to latter day prophecy.

Truly, something amazing is happening in our day.  May we have the eyes to see and ears to hear.

First B’ney Yosef (Sons of Joseph) National Congress Report

Following is an excellent report and overview of the B’ney Yosef Congress and what is continuing since from my good friend, Al McCarn!  Thank you, Al!!

I wait with great expectancy to see what our Father does next.  Truly, those days before and during the Congress, the Spirit was so palpably present and leading that is was an amazing experience.  The peace, love, joy and unity expressed by the diverse group who mostly did not know each other before the Congress, was a gigantic testimony to Abba’s work.

Enjoy Al’s report and chase the links…  Pray.  Ask Father with great seriousness what your role is in your area to begin fostering community and unity in the larger Body.  If you are in North America, stay tuned and plan to attend the January regional conference.  Those in Europe, make plans now to be in Bern, Switzerland at the end of the year!!

May Abba guide and gather us!
