Chicken Pluckin!!

Occasionally, I post a little about our homestead….  So, I thought you might be interested in today’s activities.

We are finally getting settled into our new place and figured we’d raise a few broilers for ourselves and a few friends.  Nothing like good free-range grass-fed chickens that are hormone and chemical free!

So, mid-March we took delivery of 65 chicks for the first time in several years.  The start was a bit rocky considering we lost about 25 on dumb rookie errors.  (Mostly, the boys were careless…  hard lessons.)  By today, butcher day, we had 40 rather plump birds.

The rest of the story in pictures and captions…

The Beast knows that 9.9% of al people will do whatever is asked if only they can be fed... We use feed supplement with our birds, and they missed yesterday's meal. Wana guess how easy it was to round up 40 free ranging birds? Small cagem feed in a scoop about 10 minutes with ZERO running/chasing involved... Lesson!

…the land thou abhorrest shall be forsaken…

Yesterday’s Shabbat service and Torah study at Issachar Oasis in Irmo, SC was good.  That fellowship is studying through Isaiah as well as the weekly Torah portion and yesterday we covered Isaiah 7:14-16.  (Like the last prophet they studied, we’ll be in Isaiah for years…!)

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.  Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.  For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

The focus of the leader and the group was the great hope we have in Messiah and the promise that Isaiah makes to Ahaz.  Glorious…  but my eyes could not/would not leave the phrase “the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken…” and I was pondering the recent happenings in American jurisprudence. For much of the world, and especially the United States, one has to have been under a rock not to know that two days ago the US Supreme Court issued a ruling legalizing gay marriage.  Frankly, I was not surprised.  What surprised me was that there were actually four dissenters!  Never-the-less, the ruling is done and we have one more nail in the coffin of this once great nation. But, why “the land thou abhorrest…” you ask? Continue reading

There shall be signs in the heavens….

Once in a while I listen to Rick Wiles’ TruNews radio show.  Today’s show had a particularly interesting subject as his guests were discussing a celestial event that will happen Tuesday evening, June 30, 2015.  Venus and Jupiter will come into conjunction for about 10 hours in the constellation Leo.  This is the very conjunction both guests, Jim Dodge and Dr. Dale Sides believe heralded the first coming of the Messiah.  (The last year and the the next are chock FULL of celestial events.  Many, never before seen!!)

Jim Dodge, the guest in the first half hour referred to it as the Bethlehem star and I was furiously taking notes because his speculation sounded off and I wanted to dig deeper in the timing and location.  His site does have a couple papers I want to study further, but even a quick perusal of two yields glaring errors.  The next guest, Dr. Dale Sides of Liberating Ministries, got my attention almost immediately when he began referring to “Tishri 1,” “Messiah,” etc…  Further, his understanding of and interest in celestial events as Scripture points to them, moedim/signs and seasons, has led him to developing Christological Astronomy.  His portion of the show was riveting and left me wanting more.

A little digging lead me to Dr. Dale’s Blog and several interesting articles, not the least of which is Deciphering the Meaning of the Tetrad Eclipses.  In it he explains several amazing phenomenon connected with the Blood Moon tetrad we have been keeping an eye on.  I highly recommend Dale’s blog for several more related and interesting articles!!

So, Tuesday evening we plan to eat dinner outside, watch the sun set and witness the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter into the very brightest light in the heavens next to the moon or sun!!

Shalom!

My Interview on Hebrew Nation Radio

Early this week I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Hebrew Nation Radio.  It was a new and fun experience.  I pray out of it will come more ministry opportunities and that others will be challenged to reach out in compassion.  Here is the audio and the written introduction by HNR:

6.22.15~Hebrew Nation Morning Show-Missi and Don

During the first segment, Don, Missi and Al McCarn were joined by a selection of listeners via letters and emails that had been sent in to the station telling about what HNR means to them and how important it is in their lives and walk with Elohim.  Segment 2, Adam Chronister who is founder of the Messianic Orphanage in Monrovia Liberia joined to give an update and during the last hour Pete Rambo, a former Christian pastor who went rogue and became Bible observant tells about his experiences in dealing with Christian believers when he was invited to teach a Sunday school class for over 20 weeks.

New Aleph Tav Images Added

See the A-T Images Page for new Aleph Tav images.  In looking ahead, Bill has sent me a selection of Aleph-Tav images from many books through the Tanakh.  Today I posted the Leviticus and Numbers selections he sent and the next two weeks at least will dig into Deuteronomy.  I have a total of 164 images, but there are more than 9000 Aleph-Tav uses as well as literally hundreds of other interesting words and spellings wherein the A-T shows significance.

Besides perusing the new images, please take the time to visit The Messianic Aleph Tav Scriptures website for videos, and more amazing information about the incredible Word of our King.

Final Sunday School Lesson: Under the Law

Well, I have totally enjoyed teaching Sunday school at Lexington Baptist Church, but the time has come to wrap up this great overview of the Hebraic roots of the faith and pray for the next place Abba would have me.  Over the last 23 weeks, we have covered a broad look at Scripture, beginning with Yeshua in the Tanak, considering some different Hebraic ways of seeing Scripture, statements Yeshua made as well as a hard look at the oft maligned Paul.

In the end, we find that all of Scripture upholds Abbas directions to walk in His ways as the proper outworking of sanctification and righteousness in us.

Here is the final lesson.  Audio and video files below.

Post Congress Interview with Organizers Ephraim and Rimona Frank

I just heard an awesome podcast interview of Ephraim and Rimona Frank, conducted by DSCN1124Tzefanyah ben Yochanan.  As you may recall, Ephraim and Rimona were the primary organizers of the First B’ney Yosef National Congress.  In this interview they share some of the ways the Spirit led them as they were getting ready for the Congress.  They also share quite a bit about what happened during the Congress, what they witnessed, how the Spirit worked, etc.

Like their testimony, I still pinch myself and wonder in amazement if what I experienced was real…  but, every testimony I have heard coming out of the Congress testified to it having been a work of our King.  We need to pray and ‘lean forward in the saddle’ as the Ruach (Spirit) leads us to build bridges and bring unity to the Body as He regathers and assembles the House of Yosef!!

Fox Byte 5775 #38: Korach (Korah)

In the last few weeks I have posted multiple times from multiple angles why it is so critically important that we, as the Body of Messiah, come together in unity and walk in fellowship with our brothers. Al takes that message to a whole new level with a terrific lesson from last week’s Torah portion dealing with Korach. I HIGHLY recommend taking the time to read and absorb!

Here is the punch line, to make sure you don’t miss it:

Up to now we have proven unable to govern ourselves and our families, even with the redemptive revelation offered by our Invisible God. For millennia God’s people have awaited Messiah to come and do this for us, and for millennia God has waited for His people to make themselves ready for Him to govern them. If we want to see Messiah reign over us in person, perhaps we would do well to stop building our own little kingdoms and prepare our hearts for Him to build His.

Enjoy!

What would happen if the Vice President of the United States committed murder and got away with it?  It is not a rhetorical question; such a thing happened long ago, in the early days of the American Republic.  On July 11, 1804, Vice President Aaron Burr shot and killed fellow New Yorker Alexander Hamilton.  The two had been adversaries for several years, and eventually their enmity resulted in a duel at a neutral site in Weehawken, New Jersey.  It is unclear who fired first, but it is certain that Hamilton fell mortally wounded, dying the next day in New York City.  Burr fled, facing charges of murder both in New York and New Jersey…

The Complete Lexington Baptist Sunday School Collection

Tomorrow, Sunday, June 21, marks the last time I will be at Lexington Baptist Church bandicam 2015-06-20 16-30-29-536teaching Sunday School.  When our series started, I fully expected to only be there 6-8 weeks.  Abba had other ideas and I have been blessed to be with this class for 23 or so weeks.  Each week was a challenge and a joy as we learned and were challenged to dig deeply into the Word of Yehovah.

We began with the goal of recognizing Yeshua in the Tanach (Old Testament) and then moved to understanding a few of Yeshua’s teachings and have finished with a number of weeks looking at the Apostle Paul and some of his hard verses.  Certainly, the subject matter is so broad that we have only been able to touch on topics, but the goal has been to open the doors to greater understanding and equip the class with a desire to dig deeper.  To that end, one lesson dealt specifically with Continue reading

I came to you, Israel, wanting to hate you….

Following is a terrific short article demonstrating that there is something very special about the tiny land bridge in the center of EurAsiAfrica.  We traveled to Israel already loving her, but came home in love with her.  Here is a story of a gentleman who hated her and went to validate his ire, only he didn’t count on something supernatural happening…

A Harvard Student Breaks Ranks and Falls in Love with Israel

birthright

From David Singer

Oliver Marjot came to Israel for ten days to see its arrogance and oppression for himself. It did not turn out quite that way.  Recently, a group of 52 Harvard students – of all backgrounds and faiths – visited Israel for 10 days during the Harvard Israel Trek 2015

Sometimes the impact of such a trip cannot be expressed in prose – but can only be captured in poetry.  What follows is a poem – posted on the Harvard trek blog by Oliver Marjot – a British PhD candidate studying Medieval Latin at Harvard – that reflects his transformative experience. Isaiah 62… Just beautiful!

The day we visited the Western Wall on my recent trip to Israel, we first went into the tunnels along the Wall that have been excavated deeply to the street level at the time of Yeshua.  While there, women, young and old were walking in and out with prayer books.  Once we got to the deepest part where we passed closest to the assumed placement of the Holy of Holies, we moved in hushed silence past a group of these ladies, seated and standing in prayer and davening as they cried out on behalf of Israel to the King of the universe.  My heart was touched and I KNOW His heart is!

Here is a beautiful rendition of Isaiah 62 in Hebrew by a young lady that invokes memories of the emotions I felt in that passageway.

Indeed!  For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent!
