B’ney Yosef, moving forward….

image

The Summit is behind us and we’ve had a few days to recuperate.  Elders and leaders have been affirmed… Now, what?

Well, as with any baby, growth is not immediately apparent.  Lots of eating, sleeping and, well, you know…. Protecting the newborn while it is so helpless and vulnerable is what the mother and father are supposed to do; they don’t immediately expect the infant to crawl or stand up and walk, never mind, run.  That will come in time.

Yehovah has a plan and He is revealing it as we need to know.  Right now, we are very excited about sharing Continue reading

Sign of sanctification??

image

‘THROUGHOUT’ didn’t end at the cross….  One of Yehovah’s signs upon His people is the seventh-day Shabbat.  It has never changed.

Got Shabbat?

Ken Rank’s Thoughts on BYNA Summit…

Ken Rank, co-founder of United2Restore, just posted his thought on the B’ney Yosef North America Summit.  I love his opening paragraph as it accurately portrays my inability to put into words the incredible weekend.  The rest of his synopsis is good, but simply can’t capture these memories of joyful tears, holy moments, dancing, fellowship and singing haTikvah with a room full of Hebrews.

Anyway, here is Ken’s article.  May it bless you.

B’ney Yosef North American Summit

Category Ephraim

Have you ever stood before a sunset that was so magnificent, so majestic, so vivid, that when you attempted to describe it there were simply no words powerful enough to reproduce what your eyes had beheld? That is exactly how I feel when considering the events of this past weekend. I don’t believe my vocabulary contains the needed words to articulate what I was so blessed to take part in. The B’ney Yosef North American Summit is a potential game changer; there is simply no better way to state that.

Two hundred people, most of which consider themselves to be Ephraimites (by and large, Christians, who identify as part of Israel in the nations), gathered together from all over North America to define an identity and a common purpose. That goal did not fall short.

It began on Friday night the 4th of March, exactly 40 weeks after the first B’ney Yosef meeting in Ariel, Israel held last May. Daniel Holdings and Cindy Wyant acted as MC’s and they handed it off first to Al McCarn who had been acting as interim executive director since the plenary meeting in Nashville just over 6 weeks ago. His key-note address was crisp, to the point, and it set the tone, reminding us all that this event was not intended to be a finish line, but rather a place to start. The evening gathering brought out three speakers any of which could have captured the evening had it not been for the fact that they all spoke on the same night. The first was Batya Wootten, a forerunner in her own right (along with her husband Angus) in terms of sharing the reunification/ two-house message. Batya has not spoken publicly for a couple of years due to some health issues but that absence did not affect her ability to communicate her thoughts. In fact, she almost seemed Continue reading…

Anne Elliott’s review of the BYNA Summitt!

Anne Elliott, author of Anne’s Coffee Break (a favorite blog of my wife), also has a site that sells Torah based home school curriculum.  Well, she and her husband, Kraig, took the leap to attend the B’ney Yosef North America Summit.  She has written a review of the Summit with more parts on the way.  Here is the link to the first part of her review on the Homeschooling Torah website.  I am looking forward to the follow-on videos and articles at both sites.

B’ney Yosef National Shabbat Has Come to Central Texas!

GREAT to see the National Shabbat concept spreading!! May our King be honored in the worship of His people as they set aside doctrinal pets and simply gather to worship, dance, fellowship and share a meal!

Albert J. McCarn's avatarTHE BARKING FOX

B'ney Yosef National Shabbat NewWhat is it that brings God’s people together faster than anything else?  How about praising and worshipping our Creator together on the day He set aside for that purpose?  That is the purpose of the B’ney Yosef National Shabbat:

“Once a month, there will be a Shabbat [Sabbath] experience that will bring Northern Israelites together from fellowships, congregations, and homes to express and declare to Avinu (our Father) that we are the people of Northern Israel.  There will be no teaching, but occasional presentations about our national restoration and Scriptural discussions promoting a national outlook.”  – B’ney Yosef National Shabbat Vision Statement

The National Shabbat first appeared in Georgia, and then South Carolina, and now it’s coming to Central Texas on March 19, 2016.  Here are the details:

He Who scattered is gathering…

God made promises that are only now beginning to be understood.  And, to fulfill those promises, He uses people.  (Prophecy never happens in a vacuum.)

A couple thoughts on the Summit

It has been almost a year ago now that Kelly and I visited Adat Shalom Fellowship in Summerville, SC to explain why we were going to Ariel, Israel for the First B’ney Yosef National Congress.  After we spoke to the fellowship they had a time of prayer and dedication.  During that time several people came up to share a word they had received.  One gentleman came up and spoke several things, but there was one paragraph that shocked me and stuck with me.  It was a humbling and awe inspiring statement that drifted to the back of my mind and only over dinner last Sunday evening did it come rushing back drawing tears from my already red eyes.

He said,

…You have the face of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.  You could be in that famous painting.  You look just like one of those men….

On Sunday morning I, along with 22 other men and women, signed my name to the Articles of Declaration for B’ney Yosef North America.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought, when Dean spoke those words over me that they even had an ice cube’s chance of being fulfilled, yet they were.  While it remains to be seen how significant wp-1457366561523.jpegand how enduring that document will be, I know one thing:  The Presence was in that room all weekend brooding over us, and it was so palpable that at times it was hard to stand.  Particularly as we Continue reading

SC National Shabbat: March 19

Our next South Carolina National Shabbat is fast approaching and promises to be better than the first, a tough order!!

You will recall that the first SC National Shabbat, December 5, 2015, drew about 225 like-minded Messianic and Hebrew roots believers from across SC for a day of worship, dancing, fellowship and fun!  Well, it is time to do it all again, only we expect a larger crowd.  Venue has changed! Entirely indoors with plenty of room to dance and fellowship, this promises to be a really neat place.

DSCN9453

The music is going to be provided by dear friends of ours, the Washburns, from middle Tennessee.  We will also give a full report on the B’ney Yosef North America Summit.  My expectation is that we’ll have a very special video to share that is not yet released…  Other surprises lurk, too!!

If you are interested in attending and have not received an email from the organizers, please contact me through this site and I will get information to you.

B’ney Yosef NA Articles of Declaration

Earlier, I referred to the Articles of Declaration as ‘Articles of Dependence.’
Truly, these Articles demand dependence on the Almighty.  When I have time ( and something other than a smart phone ) I will blog some personal thoughts and reflections.  For now, I want to say, I signed these with no reservations knowing fully the weight of the document and the task now before us.

Here are the B’ney Yosef North America Articles of Declaration.

Deluded much?

image

James, half brother of Yeshua and head of the Jerusalem Council, says those who hear the Torah but don’t DO it are DELUDED!

Sounds a bit like the Christian pastor I used to be… always making excuses for why such and such a verse no longer applied while also saying the Word of God stands forever and is unchanging.  …a bit like fresh and salt water coming from the same mouth, no?

James is clearly guided by Psalm 119:44-45; 142, etc.

Deluded? Or, Torah?

If you believe your Bible, those are the options.

B’ney Yosef in Breaking Israel News

Here is an article from a Jewish news source about B’ney Yosef.  A reporter for BIN was on hand and writing an eye witness report to try to describe more of what happened this weekend.
The above linked article is more of a general overview, but demonstrates Jewish interest in what has/is happening.
The discussion is just beginning and will be fluid.  We must be careful to display the Fruits of the Spirit and great patience and humility in this conversation.  Pray and walk in peace.

Signed!! A declaration of dependence!!

After a time of worship wherein the Spirit was so heavy that tears and weeping were common, we solemnly moved to the point of leadership, patriarchs and writers of the Articles of Declaration signed the document.
I cannot express the cocktail of emotions Continue reading
