What was the Apostle Paul’s example?

Rav Shaul, the Apostle Paul, made a pretty audacious statement in his first letter to the Corinthians he says,

Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.  Now I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold firmly to the traditions, just as I delivered them to you.

We are to imitate him just as he imitates Yeshua!  So, what exactly was Rav Shaul’s example? And, what were the ‘traditions?’

Has God forgotten you?

Hosea 4:6 says,

My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.

“Because you have rejected knowledge,  I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the Torah of your God, I also will ignore your children.”

You want God to remember you?  You want His hand on your children?

Simple.  Return to the Torah.

Yeshua (Jesus) the living Torah calls us to walk as He walked in the written Torah.

Shalom.

Another Reason Jesus HAD to Die….

If you are like me, you have heard ten thousand times that Jesus/Yeshua died for our sin, the sin of the world, etc…

But did you know, Scripture teaches that He had to die for another reason?

Me neither.  It never dawned on me, but it is clearly there.

He HAD to die because His covenant bride had played the harlot and His Divine righteousness demanded that He divorce her.  His own law demanded that He could not remarry her except “she be released from the law concerning the husband.”

Got Kosher?.

No…  this is not about food.  At least not yet.  But, I can’t wait for the next in the series.

This is largely about the Apostle Saul, Rav Shaul.  Enjoy.

Thanks, Ruth, for another excellent article.

What is His Name?

Who has ascended into heaven and descended?  Who has gathered the wind in His fists?  Who has wrapped the waters in His garment?  Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name or His son’s nameSurely you know!

What is His name?  Do you know?  Does it matter?

Grafted in? Then what?

Rav Shaul, in Ephesians 2 says,

“…remember that you were at that time separate from Messiah, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Messiah Yeshua you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Messiah….So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of Yahweh’s household,..”

If you are grafted into Messiah, then you are a no longer an alien, but one who sojourns with Israel.

Rav Shaul, in Ephesians 4, continues;

“…There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.”

Therefore,

The same Torah shall apply to the native as to the stranger who sojourns among you.

Exodus 12:49

Got Torah?

Ponder this today.

…Prayer is an abomination.

He who turns away his ear from listening to the Torah,
Even his prayer is an abomination.

Proverbs 28:9

The word ‘listening’ is from the Hebrew word ‘shamah’ of the same origin as ‘shema’ meaning ‘listen and obey.’

Ponder this.

Shalom.  Pete

Two Witnesses that Stand!! (See for yourself…)

Deuteronomy 30 is an amazing chapter.

I won’t even dig into the first four verses that promise Yahweh will restore His people to the land and have compassion on us when we return to Him and obey His commandments….  I’ll save that post for later.

I won’t drone on about how He promises to prosper abundantly in body, offspring, produce etc, (vss. 8-10) those who keep His commandments and statutes….  That’ll make another good post in the future.

I won’t bother to show verses 15 and 16 that speak of the life and prosperity given for keeping all of His commandments…  Just too much good stuff in this chapter.

Instead, I want to introduce you to the two witnesses Continue reading

DIY Shofar video…. as promised!

It took a while, but I promised a DIY Shofar video, and here it is…

Please pardon the rough filming and editing.  It is a first time for my boys and me doing filming and video work.  We (mostly they) edited a couple hours of video down to about 22 minutes which we divided into two parts.

Enjoy!

Elijah, Significance in the End Times. Part 7

Well, we come to the end of this study and there are a few random thoughts, additions I want to part with.  Each of these could be chased for studies of their own, but I want to point out simple connections to get your wheels turning and then, if you so desire, pursue the ideas on your own.

If you haven’t read the first parts of this study, particularly the first three or four parts, this will mean very little.

To recap, Elijah was a Torah keeping Gentile, grafted into Israel and an exact counterpart to Moses.  While his life is significant, the illustration it teaches for the coming Great Tribulation is even more significant.  He is a prototype of one of the Two Witnesses, which we demonstrated may well be a picture of the 144,000.  They all tie together.

I want to spend a few minutes looking at Ahab and Jezebel as archetypes, and then a mention of some of the ‘works’ Eliyahu does in the Great Tribulation. Continue reading

What was not said in “Many will say on that day….”

Mat 7:22 – 23 says:

Many will say to Me in that day, Master, Master, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power? And then I will declare to them, from everlasting, I never knew you; “depart from Me, those working lawlessness!” (Psa. 6:8)

To many, this is probably one of the scariest verses in the Bible.  Continue reading

RT: Righteousness

Last year was the first year my family and I celebrated Passover.  It was a huge blessing, but I really didn’t ‘get’ the whole Days of Unleavened Bread ‘thing’ so we let it slip by…

How much we missed!!

As we approached Pesach this year I determined to learn more about the related feast, Days of Unleavened Bread.  I have learned so, so much!!

In a previous post I shared a little of what Abba has been showing me, but today my understanding of righteousness from a Scriptural perspective took a major leap forward!! Continue reading
