It took a while, but I promised a DIY Shofar video, and here it is…
Please pardon the rough filming and editing. It is a first time for my boys and me doing filming and video work. We (mostly they) edited a couple hours of video down to about 22 minutes which we divided into two parts.
Enjoy!
DIY Shofar Part 1.
DIY Shofar Part 2.
If you have questions of comments, post them here. Happy to answer to the best of my ability.

To the Rambo family….this is such an informative video. It is amazing to watch each step and now I can visualize how my shofar can look. I also see a great writer, director and producer on the horizon Can’t wait to see your next production.

Writer? LOL!! Off the cuff… no notes. I keep looking at this and thinking of something else I should have done differently… LOL!
I do hope, if Yeshua tarries, that more observant believers will work in the film industry to create quality Yah-honoring pieces…

Could you take a moment of your time to explain how you sanded the mouthpiece area. Is the shaped like a brass instrument mouthpiece such as a trumpet? Have you ever modified one so that a trumpet mouthpiece could be inserted?

Welcome.
Generally, it is understood that a trumpet mouthpiece would render the shofar unclean or unkosher. I tend to agree.
Making the mouthpiece is not hard. CAREFULLY drill out the bell with an 11/16ths drill after piercing the airhole with, as I recall, a 3/16ths bit, then round the outside and break the edges with sand paper. Takes a little time, but you can do it and make a very nice mouthpiece.
Shalom.

Thanks. A just for clarification you stated a 5/16th airway hole in your video. And while I’m talking about clarification, no your first video (Part 1) you said a 11/64th size bit for the mouthpiece, however in the comments area this size was discussed and someone said you must have meant to say 11/16th. You might want to add your “official” clarification on those comments to solidify the correct size. Thanks again and God Bless! MrSilverTrumpet.com
