Coronavirus and Passover… Connected!

Over the course of the last week, as I have read many articles related to Coronavirus and the related events around the world, I have begun to have a couple big questions form in my head. The timing and the sequence of events is leading to a scenario that is unanticipated, but suddenly a potential HUGE event prophetically. Continue reading

National Coronavirus lockdown? What to do…

Rumors abound regarding a possible national lockdown coming…  Certainly, many states have already shuttered all non-essential businesses and activities in order to increase social distancing.  While I do believe that may be necessary at this juncture to slow the spread of a rather virulent bug, the longer term implications are of some concern, but I digress.

If you are already working from home or are shortly required to quarantine in place, now might be a GREAT time to focus on some areas that are often neglected!!  We are being given a gift!!  a window of time that we can utilize for great personal and Kingdom benefit.

Here are a few ideas for things to do.  Add additional ideas to the comments for others!

  • Spend more time daily in prayer!
  • Spend extra time studying the Biblical topics you may have wanted to study, but have not had time.
  • Have family devotions.
  • Workout! (Remember my ‘Fitness is a three legged stool’ article? The three legs are  spiritual, mental AND physical…)
  • Start a garden!
  • Can some veges!  (If you can get to a local farmer’s market or similar, maybe you can bulk buy fruits and veges.)
  • Read up on Pesach and how to observe… Pre-clean for Passover.
  • Teach a skill to your children.
  • Go for a long hike or two.

The major point is: Don’t waste the time you are given by sleeping in, drinking, watching stupid pet videos and exchanging memes.  Take advantage of the great lockdown!!

Blessings in Yeshua!

How many ways does ‘monogamy-ONLY’ break Torah?

I’ve been asked a few times why I’m so serious about understanding what the Torah and Scripture as a whole really say about patriarchy, headship, marriage and family structure. Initially, it was hard to exactly explain what I was seeing until I realized how many ways the ‘traditional marriage’ model violates Torah and literally causes us to sin!

Well, this past week it all gelled and I wrote an article for 113Restoration.com that is titled  Breaking Torah! (Let me count the ways…).  I invite you to read and consider whether I’m on target or not.  What you may find are some serious surprises that cause you to rethink a few things….

Please leave feedback in the comment on 113Restoration.com as the whole editors group would like your feedback!!

Shabbat shalom.

Torah Portion: Ki Tisa (Exodus 30:11-34:35)

With headship comes responsibility. This week we witness both failure and success by heads of household.  Most interesting is considering Moses in the role of Messiah and how he is an example for men as the head of their homes. Enjoy our free Torah Portion download from our Torah Portion Series page.

Blinded by the Enlightenment

Romans 1:22 Professing to be wise, they became fools…

I am amazed everyday by the number of people who claim to believe Scripture, but reject the very truths contained therein. Really.  Itan-illustration-of-a-person-being-enlightened completely boggles the mind.

Numerous dear friends who embrace Torah, even keep much of it, will throw up a hand or plug their ears when certain topics are mentioned claiming that we are a more enlightened people now than ‘that culture’ as if ‘that culture’ was somehow sub-par or beneath them.

Do we  really think our ways are higher than His ways?

Scripture will tell us straight out that outside of the ways of Yah, we may be educated, but we are FOOLS! No wonder our culture is collapsing and the marriage/divorce rate within Christendom mirrors that collapse.  We follow a false pattern and think God can bless and protect us and our house of cards!

No, the white hot Light of judgment is coming and His standard is not this egalitarian cultural morass we live in.  Are we keeping His rules, or are we adjusting them to our liking …  a little tweak here or there because “I just don’t agree with that.

Folks!!  Now is not the time to be picking and choosing! The Torah is not a smorgasbord or ala carte menu where you can pick and choose.  Either, embrace the whole enchilada or get in the ‘lukewarm spewing line.’

Do not be blinded by the Enlightenment thinking yourself wise when in fact that in the place of fools!!

Torah Portion: Tetzaveh (Exo. 27:20-30:10)

What  is the role of the high priest and how is the husband to image that?  Why isn’t Dinah’s name on one of the onyx stones? What can we learn about obedience to Yah’s ways, even when we do  not understand?

This weeks Torah Portion is now available for free download.  May it provoke thought and introspection on matters not generally associated with this portion.

“…I do not allow a woman to teach…”

Please come read and interact!!

Introducing 113Restoration.com

Over the course of the last year to eighteen months I have had a real passion to understand foundational elements of the restoration of kol Israel. Central to that study has been a growing understanding of family, patriarchy, headship, masculinity and fmeninity. You have witnessed this as the topic has been central to much of natsab.com for this time period.

During this timeframe the Father has connected me with a number of other men and a few women who share this vision of restoration and agree that the foundation is in restoring the Biblical family structure and roles. A couple months ago we began to bat around the idea of a separate blog where we all can write and contribute as we share the things we are learning in Scripture regarding the specifics of Biblical headship and patriarchy.

The new blog, named after our guiding verse, 1 Corinthians 11:3, is

113Restoration.com

But I want you to understand that Messiah is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Messiah.

1 Corinthians 11:3

Our hope, as we continue to study and explore the depth of Scripture in this area, is that we can assemble a sizeable repository of solid Scripture based teaching, wisdom and resources from the tedious detailed study to funny memes and pithy articles.

Come on over and meet the staff and check out the new articles that are going up as well as peruse the Resources section regarding some difficult topics most prefer to ignore or sweep under the rug. We are still working out bugs and getting things swept up, but happy to have you visit, follow and comment.

Shalom!

Torah Portion: Beshalach (Exodus 13:17-17:16)

What can we learn about the relationship between a man and a woman in a marriage from this Torah portion? How does Israel’s incorrect attitude often mirror the incorrect attitudes of a woman? What can we learn from this?

Refuting 119Ministries’ Polygyny Video

It is with deep regret that we find it necessary to refute 119Ministries for significant error in their most recent video regarding their (un)Biblical position concerning polygyny.

While we admit this is a third rail topic laden with cultural and emotional baggage, we also believe that Truth is more important than public opinion. And, defending our Elohim, His Word and the honor of our fathers, the Patriarchs, is well worth the potential cost.

In the interest of ‘Testing Everything’, we present our well articulated response to 119Ministries’ error laden video. We are deeply sorry to see 119Ministries sacrifice their once solid reputation by handling clear Scripture so very poorly.
