Signs, signs, everywhere a sign.
As with my other RT posts, proceed with caution. See the attached sign.
Scripture articulates several particular signs that point to very specific promises. Some we heed, and to our peril, some we not only ignore, but we intentionally spray paint over in an effort to hide the signs for those who come behind…
Can you imagine hiking in the mountains and encountering a sign warning of snakes or bears that someone painted over or in some other way defaced or obscured?? Not a pleasant picture. Even worse is seeing the sign and having someone you trust standing there telling you the sign doesn’t really mean what it says…
Christendom has several such signs Continue reading

“Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commands of God AND their faith in Yeshua.”
This isn’t my opinion….
Excellent overview article. Provides some additional and interesting arguments that my son did not include in the paper he wrote and published on this blog… Enjoy and/or be challenged! Shalom!
***This is part two of my “What I Believe” series & includes some accusations made against me & my family by members of the church we attended for 7 years. It is not meant to be gossipy or anything like that.
We’ve been accused of being legalistic because we try to follow the biblical commandments of YHVH as given to Moses. Yet, these accusations come from people who claim to follow YHVH/God, Yeshua/Jesus. Whose & what commands do they follow? Why aren’t THEY legalistic but we are?
We keep the seventh day Shabbat (Sabbath) – Genesis 2:2-3 On the seventh day God was finished with his work which he had made, so he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 God blessed the seventh day and separated it as holy; because on that day God rested from all his work which he had created…

While my dad was well educated and enjoyed academic pursuits, he would sometimes give a person a hard time for using unnecessarily large words. “Two dollar words” he called them. In his wisdom, he understood that often ‘less is more.’
Today is not such a day. Today, we pull out a ‘two dollar word’ because nothing else will precisely fit.

Couldn’t have said it better myself!!
And another GREAT resource: What does ‘mia ton sabbaton’ mean?

The next installment of ‘Reading my email…’ Part 1 explains what this is about and why I am posting it… As before, the names are redacted or changed to protect the innocent…

*****,
Thank you for your email. I would love to sit down over a cup of coffee and discuss the changes wrought in my beliefs. In an effort to further clarify exactly what I am seeing and my concerns, I will record some of them here so that you may share it with the Committee or any other person(s) of interest.
I had not read The Standards [note: Essentially, The Westminster Confession of Faith] in a while and I appreciate your recommending that action. Following is a direct quote with my current thoughts. There are other similar quotes with attendant complications Continue reading
I am definitely not much of a bricklayer!! It doesn’t help that the bricks used on the chimney of our outdoor fireplace are reclaimed from several sources…
[Aside: I am teaching my sons to be willing to reuse stuff… Creativity is a bonus! The chair at my computer desk came out of the dumpster. One of the big herb pots on the patio is a re-purposed base for a diving board… The diving board will be used a as bench. You get the picture. Well, the guys at the ‘recycle center’ don’t approve of us ‘recycling’ items… go figure. Early last Spring as we were preparing to add the chimney to our outdoor fireplace, my boys and I were at the dump throwing away trash. My youngest, who weighs about 50 lbs exclaimed, “Dad, there are a bunch of bricks in the dumpster!” Before he realized what was happening I had grabbed him by the waist, Continue reading
New post in the RT series up tomorrow. RT: Myths
In the meantime, I have posted before how much I love this YTer’s posts…
Here is another excellent one that will bless you. Deep teaching connecting verses to show the hidden things of our Father.
In my early teen years I spent a summer in Mexico with Teen Missions International helping to build the first story of a cement block dormitory for a church camp. One of the requirements was a daily memory verse.
Nehemiah 4:6 was one such verse that has always stuck with me. Both Ezra and Nehemiah have become favorite books.
No surprise that when I ran into The Nehemiah Prayer Challenge, that I had to look into it and immediately signed on. I highly recommend it!! Yahweh is doing something awesome, and this is one place He is changing lives through fervent prayer as we make straight the Way for the return of Yeshua the Messiah!
If you sign on, add a comment.
***Update: Here is the Prayer Protocol Sheet. Print and review. It is a great comprehensive guide, whether you participate or not!
Shalom.
I have another post in the RT series rolling around in my head, but have not had the time or energy to start hammering it out… May be another couple days before I get to that.
In the meantime, I have been pondering posting a couple emails that I have written as defenses or presentations of what I am learning. This one is the first of three (or, four?) that I sent to the ordination oversight committee for my denomination. We’ve had several very pleasant exchanges. The peace of our Father has been evident, still, I long for them to actually be willing to seek and study the fulness of truth. Maybe I can write more about the exchanges, one in person over lunch, and how they went with my impressions about ‘dealing with the establishment.’ LOL!
My purpose here in sharing these is to help others in putting together reasoned defenses of our Hebrew roots position. I understand that it is Yahweh’s Ruach (Spirit) that has to open eyes, therefore, my presentations, though reasoned, are not exhaustive. My intent is/was to cause thinking and digging. One key, we always have to maintain the fruit of love, peace, gentleness, etc
**I am hiding names of other parties involved to preserve Continue reading
