How many times?? Not 2 or 3, but…

I thought just two, then I saw three…  Now, just now, I saw the fourth!!  What am I talking about?  Check this out:   (All quotes from Revelation)

‘…who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.’

‘…who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.’

‘…they sang the song of Moses, … and the song of the Lamb…’

‘…had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God…’

It just keeps popping up.  Walking Torah and having faith in Yeshua!  See those references for yourself: 12:17; 14:12; 15:3; 20:4!!

Seems pretty important to keep studying this Torah stuff and learning to walk it out!

Shalom!

Food for Thought, Guest post

Following is a paper my 13 year old son wrote for a research class in the fall of 2012.  He chose this topic because we had just dealt in depth with it as a family as Abba began to open our eyes to the fullness of what He desires as a walk of righteousness.

This is guaranteed to challenge you, but I encourage you to follow along as he digs into the unchanging Word of our King.

Introduction

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate from scriptural and scientific evidence that God’s dietary laws are unchanging through the course of time. Continue reading

Elijah, Significance in the End Times. Part 4.

As the title indicates, this is part 4 in a series.  I strongly recommend reading parts 1, 2 & 3 in order to fully grasp what happens here.

In part one we determined that Elijah was a Torah keeping Gentile, grafted into Israel.  He is the bookend counterpoint/counterpart to Moshe.  Parts 2 & 3 detailed his future role during the 42 months of the Great Tribulation as pictured in 1 Kings 17.  His ministry, as Malachi 4 teaches is one of restoration of children to their fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  He will remind them/us of the ‘Torah of Moses’ before the ‘great and terrible Day of the Lord.’

We will now begin to tackle 1 Kings 18 and the famed Mt. Carmel showdown.  To do so, we need to understand what was going on religiously in Israel, the northern kingdom, now the ‘lost’ ten tribes.  (If you want to know where/who those tribes are today, I highly recommend a study called The Lost Sheep.  More deep Scripture that challenges the very foundation of church traditions with the simple truths of Yahweh’s Word.)

I was always under the impression that Baal worship was some terrible form of idolatry that was easily distinguishable from the true worship of the Living Elohim (God).  Scripture seems to point to something a little different.  Continue reading

Elijah, Significance in the End Times. Part 3

This is the third part in a series.  If you missed parts 1 & 2, you really need to read them for background.

Basically, I am recording what Abba has been showing me in His Word about the current relevance of Elijah.  For some months, He has continually drawn me back to study Elijah and then recently He has totally compelled me to seek His face and learn from this prophet.  The relevance to our time is HUGE!!

Elijah is best remembered for his showdown with the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel, but as we are seeing so far, there is much background that must be explored to fully understand that event.  By the time we are finished, I hope to show that indeed, ‘These are the Days of Elijah.’     Continue reading

Do you believe Moses?

46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

Yeshua, John 5:46-47

Seems this Torah stuff might be more important than my pastor led me to believe….

Shalom!

Elijah, Significance in the End Times. Part 2

This is part 2 of a series on Elijah and his MAJOR significance in End Times prophecy/eschatology.  Part 1 can be read here.

As previously stated, this series will reveal the importance of Elijah, who the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11 are, who the 144,000 likely are, and how this related to the End Times.

In part 1 we established that Elijah was a Torahkeeping Gentile who was grafted into Israel.  We also compared and contrasted him with Moshe (Moses) and revealed part of the significance of his appearing on the Mount of Transfiguration with Yeshua.

As I promised, we will begin to tackle 1 Kings 17 in this part, however, it dawned on me late last night Continue reading

Elijah, Significance in the End Times. Part 1

Elijah, Pesach, Two Witnesses, the 144,00 and the Hebraic.  Part 1.

I have been absolutely immersed, driven to understand the significance of Elijah and the   Last Days.  I imagined that there were some things earth shattering revealed in the life of this prophet, but I had no idea how much or how significant.  This is the first of a multi-part series on Elijah.  Before we are finished, we will understand the deeper significance of Elijah and his role in eschatology.  We’ll learn some very interesting probable perspective on the Two Witnesses and the 144,000.  And, we will understand more of what this mighty move of Yah is as He Continue reading

Beware the Ides of March!!

As I was washing dishes after lunch I was pondering the Conclave at the Vatican and a news article I saw in the last 24 hours about the expectation of a new Pope by Friday….  The phrase, ‘Beware the Ides of March’ popped into my head.

Having learned to pay attention to the gentle whisper, I ran to the calender and was shocked to see Friday as the Ides (15th) of March…  Now, this may mean NOTHING, or it may be an interesting point to add to the prophecy laden days we’ve had in recent weeks….

If the Pope is s/elected on Friday the 15th of March, that would be an interesting omen if indeed he is Petrus Romanus.

Tzitzits. A sign…

1342207464If you have done any research trying to understand the Hebrew roots of your faith, you have no doubt run into information on tzitzits.

Most everyone focuses on the commandment in Numbers 15:37-40 as a way of reminding themselves and others of the commandments, or mitzvot of our God.

Certainly, this is central, but lately Abba has placed His grace on me in another way as He reveals a secondary aspect of blessing from simple obedience.  What blessings?  Let me share!! Continue reading

Reading my email…. Part 3.

Third part in a series…  I recommend the previous parts as background. Part 1Part 2.

[The short, as a pastor, I have had an email exchange sharing my changing theological position as Yahweh opens my eyes to the fullness of His Word.  I hope these emails help others in formulating reasoned loving and grace filled responses to those questioning what and why you are learning/growing in your understanding of the Hebrew roots of your faith in a Jewish Messiah.]

This is an email to the ordaining body for my area in my denomination.  In the email, I actually enclose an email that was to another pastor in this area.  Names are redacted to protect the innocent…

Enjoy.

Defining ‘Heaven’…

I was ‘raised in the church,’ and had pastored a small congregation for a number of years before I began to have a clear picture of what Scripture has to say about ‘Heaven.’  Even then, I was not entirely correct as recent study is showing me.

This is not an exhaustive or definitive study.  I just want to share some Scripture and a few thoughts.

Until a couple years ago, like most people, I had a very fuzzy, even mystical view of some ethereal blissful place that was beyond description.  Most of that nonsense was cleared up after reading Continue reading
