The ‘Who is…‘ connections should be getting easier!!  In the last few days we have looked at several, resulting in a series!  Today we want to consider, “Who is…  The Savior?”

Christendom would immediately ascribe the title of ‘Savior’ to Yeshua.  In that, they would be right!  … Partly. 

Indeed, His very name means ‘salvation!’

We are very familiar with the title from well-loved Scriptures such as Luke 2:11,

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

And,

He is the one whom God exalted ^[a]to His right hand as a ^[b]Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.  Acts 5:31

And, a dozen more such references in the New Testament.  That Yeshua is the Savior is incontestable based on His fulfillment of prophecies, His having been raised from the dead and His complete upholding of the Torah!

What escapes Christendom is the echad connectedness of Yeshua with Yahweh based on the numerous times we are explicitly told that Yahweh is the Savior!!  Consider these references,

“For I am Yahweh your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I have given Egypt as your ransom,
^[a]Cush and Seba in your place.  Isaiah 43:3

“I, even I, am Yahweh,
And there is no savior besides Me.  Isaiah 43:11

…all flesh will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior
And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.” Isaiah 49:26

Lest you think Isaiah is the only one to use that title, here are a few more from others,

^[a]My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge;  My savior, You save me from violence.  (David in 2 Samuel 22:3)

Yet I have been Yahweh your God  since the land of Egypt;
And you were not to know any god except Me,
For there is no savior besides Me.  Hosea 13:4

Again!  As we have seen these last several days, the echad, or unified, nature of Yahweh and Yeshua cannot be separated into distinct ‘persons’ that do different things!!  They are united such that they ONLY function in perfect unity and harmony!!  Yeshua did NOTHING contrary to the Torah.  He did not in any way loosen the righteous requirements of the Law on those who love, or are loyal to, Him!!

Any doctrine or theology that attempts to set Yeshua against Yahweh, or attempts to use Yeshua to undo that which Yahweh has declared to be olam is a lie.  Any pastor that attempts such is a false teacher!  Period!

I would encourage you to study out Who gave the Torah!
