Yesterday’s post with some information about my ‘highlighting habit’ and a few pretty pictures made me think to share Psalm 119 from a different perspective. Prior to understanding how much YAHWEH values HIS Torah, I found this Psalm to be incredibly boring. It was very dry… Not because that is how He wrote it, but because of how I viewed it!!
Soon after He began to reveal how important HIS Torah is, I began to drink deeply of this Psalm and simply could not get enough. Eventually, I took the time to highlight every synonym or word parallel of ‘torah’ so I could ‘see’ them all. I used a pink highlighter to mark every instance of ‘law,’ ‘judgment,’ ‘statute,’ ‘ordinance,’ ‘precept,’ ‘commandment, etc…
Following are pics of this Psalm in my Bible. As you can tell, it is FAR from being exhausted study-wise, but the images give the visual learners like me a greater understanding of all the synonyms and how our Father views His Torah!
You can click each pic for a closer view if you want to see what I have highlighted or any notes in the margin…
I pray you will ‘see’ something here you have never seen before…
If this post has blessed or challenged you, please consider sharing it with others, that they may find the glories of our King’s Torah!
Shalom!
Thank you so much. I am a visual person myself, I can appreciate this. My 13year old son is leaving for boardingschool ons Sunday. I am preparing him a workbook for their Bibletime every morning. Highlighting this Psalm in his Bible will also be very helpfull, thank you. My 17 year old daughter is already in boardingschool. She is a smallgroup leader this year, this will help her in her personal study as well, seeing that the denomination leading the school’s small groups do mot ‘do Torah’. Please pray for her as it will be a challenge to present the lesson and adding some truth. Regards

Thank you, and I will remember them in prayer.
I’m visual and have several other passages to take pics of… My Bible has many, many pages awash in color as I see one thing, then later, see something else…. The nice thing of the different colors, some dedicated to particular topics, I can scan a page and quickly get major points, etc.
Shalom!

That Psalm one hundred and nineteen is really the hallmark of definition of terms. The Commandments equals Law equals Love equals the Messiah Yahshua( aka Jesus Christ) equals Yhwh.
And for Christians to separate one from the other makes no sense. I have been osstrasized for this thought. I have had “friends” for twenty and thirty years that now. You can read it on my blog I will be posting the recent development.

I think they should start bringing out highlighter in more colors, we might be running out of colors soon! O, my son is Alexander and my daughter Morgan, makes praying for them a bit more personal.

Reblogged this on hebrewofyhwh and commented:
Question to “christians” If the law of God is done awaywith and nailed to the cross with Jesus, why are the penalties for breaking those laws still in existence. A). Is the penalty for theft still in existence? If so, then the law is still in full force and effect, right? What about the law thou shalt not have sex out side of marriage and if you do you have t o pay the daddy 50 shekles of silver ( 37.5 ounces of silver) and marry the girl, and you may never annul the marriage, but you may get divorced?
What about the law on poisoning the Temple of the Holy Ghost which is the body? When vaccinces are administrated are they not causing documented permanent damage , if You question this see the Blaylock report on vaccination and the videos here and on Youtube etc.

Greetings,
I enjoy reading your blog, and this post about Psalms 119. Thank you so much for sharing your heart.
I have also written a post about Psalm 119, entitled “Thy Torah is My Delight.” Perhaps you might enjoy it. See this at http://coldwaterstoathirstysoul.wordpress.com/2011/11/03/thy-torah-is-my-delight/
Psalms 119 in particular has much hidden treasure to be found. One such verse is verse 100:
I understand more than the ancients, for I keep your precepts (Psalms 119:100).
This passage is one of several that illustrates the important principle that our understanding the Word is a result of our keeping (obedience to) Yah’s Word.
Shalom and Blessings,
Deborah
