Countering the Mark of the Beast…

The ‘Mark of the Beast’ is a pretty common prophecy topic, but have you ever noticed that holy to the Lordthere are several ‘marks’ God puts on HIS people?  By those ‘marks’ can you KNOW that you are one of His?

The mark of the Beast is supposed to be a sign on the ‘right hand or on the forehead,’ as Revelation 13:16 reveals. The exact same terminology* is used in 14:9, 11; 16:2 (2); 19:20 and 20:4.  “Head and/or hand…”

But, what if you knew what the mark or sign of God’s people is?  Would it be worth researching and studying it out??

In fact, Scripture gives several very clear signs or marks that distinguish God’s people.  Consider these very clear verses:

Speaking of Passover:Exodus 13:9-10 And it shall [a]serve as a sign to you on your hand, and as a reminder [b]on your forehead, that the law (Torah) of the Lord may be in your mouth; for with a powerful hand the Lord brought you out of Egypt. 10 Therefore, you shall keep this ordinance at its appointed time from [c]year to year.

Speaking of the Torah:Deut. 6:6 These words, which I am commanding you today (the Torah), shall be on your heart. …..You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as [a]frontals [b]on your forehead.

Speaking of the Sabbaths (Seventh Day AND the Feasts of YHVH):Exodus 31:13 “But as for you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘You shall surely observe My sabbaths; for this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you. …… 16 So the sons of Israel shall observe the sabbath, to [a]celebrate the sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.’ 17 It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.”

Sabbaths as a sign in Ezekiel: Ezekiel 20:11 I gave them My statutes and informed them of My ordinances, by which, if a man [a]observes them, he will live. 12 Also I gave them My sabbaths to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them. 13 But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness. They did not walk in My statutes and they rejected My ordinances, by which, if a man [b]observes them, he will live;……….19 I am the Lord your God; walk in My statutes and keep My ordinances and [a]observe them. 20 Sanctify My sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’

Here is what I believe we can surmise from Scripture:  God graciously gives us very specific ‘marks’ for who His people are and what they DO (evidence of what they believe).  In the End Times, or Latter Days, He will protect and preserve according to obedience, just as He did in the Wilderness.  (See Ez. 20:33ff !!)  NOT keeping the Torah*** is an exceedingly dangerous gamble as Laura Jarvis reminded us in the comments of this recent post.  NOT keeping the Torah means you do NOT have HIS signs/marks on you….

These are not my words, they are the Words of the Living Elohim, YHVH.  Don’t listen to or follow me, go read your Bible!!

*** Because I continually get accused of ‘works theology,’ I want to state for at least the 100th time on this blog,

Keeping the Torah does not save you.  It evidences a true salvation!  The blood of our Redeemer, Yeshua, the Holy One of Israel, allows us into covenant with Him, but we then have terms, or acts of ‘love’ that are required of us.  As we learn to show Him love by walking in His ways, then we are blessed, as He promised!!

*  The Greek word used for ‘mark’ (G5480) in the ‘Mark of the Beast’ is not the same as the Greek word used in the LXX for ‘sign’ (G4592) or Greek word for ‘seal’ (G4972) (on their foreheads.)  The possible discrepancy may be the difference between a ‘graven’ mark, visible to the physical eye, and a ‘spiritual’ mark, visible to the spiritual realm, both good and bad…

And יהוה said to him, “Pass through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it.”–Ezekiel 9:4

    Just another 🙂

There is another mark to consider very seriously, mentioned in Ezekiel 9:4….there is much for us to be crying and sighing over regarding the abominations that are done in the midst of us and in considering v.9 ..the iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah with lands full of (innocent) bloodshed and cities full of perversity….May we be ones that have soft penetrable hearts that are able to cry and sigh and not hearts that grow cold and callous in these days.
