After months of preparation and anticipation, the time has come. I wrapped up things at work, cleaned my office and said a few ‘see you later’s, then walked out the door. Tomorrow morning, we board a flight to Toronto and then on to Tel Aviv. By Thursday, most of my family and I, along with a number of dear friends, will be in Jerusalem for Sukkot followed by the Second B’ney Yosef National Congress.
As I drove home, I received a simple text from Kelly, ‘Anxiety!’ I responded, ‘Relaxed!’
Indeed, I have watched the news and the craziness of the world, but I am in such a peaceful zone right now it feels surreal. It feels like destiny. So much planning, saving, working and praying have been done. The packing is finished. Now, it is time to set my face toward Jerusalem and whatever Father has for us. I am expecting an adventure!
Last May, Kelly and I made our first trip to Israel. I left my heart there and can’t wait to get back and visit it. We toured before the First B’ney Yosef Congress visiting places from Masada to Tel Dan, the Mediterranean to Gamla, but there is so much more to see! This trip we have the great excitement of taking three sons to see and experience ha Eretz (the Land) as we have.
For our youngest, it will be his first flight, and for all the boys, this is their first trip overseas. Great education (this homeschooling is TOUGH! LOL), but even more fun to see them experience the Land of our fathers.
Keep us in prayer as we travel. Stay tuned to this blog… lots of pictures and short notes coming. I may even have the boys write a guest post or two…
Shalom!!
Safe travels, wonderful encounters of YHVH and walk in HIS SHALOM!
Blessings on you and the family,
Peggy Shockey
