Imploding America and the exploding ‘revival’ (Responding to Joel Rosenberg)

Joel C. Rosenburg of FlashTrafficBlog is normally extremely prescient, almost to the point of being spooky.  His political analysis is exceptional feeding great insight into fictional novels that have at times been so accurate that one might think him a time traveler.  Still, like the rest of us, he is not omniscient.

Today, in a blog post titled Some thoughts on a presidential campaign going from bad to worse to nightmarish, he revealed a couple weaknesses.  His recap of the presidential campaign that is increasingly revealing the dregs we have for candidates is terrific and echoes my very, very deep concerns for this nation.  Personally, I have thought the American experiment to be over, but the last three months have not only confirmed but chiseled that opinion into stone.  I believe Rosenberg would agree.  Please take the time to read his post.

Rosenberg rightly calls for prayer, and I am in full agreement.  As I read, though, I realized he has somehow missed two very important points that would radically alter his blog post.  I’d like to address those in reverse order.  He states,

I have to admit that I seriously long for the Lord to set the Rapture into motion in the days or weeks ahead. Election Day would be just fine, though sooner would be better.

Mr. Rosenberg, it is with deep concern that I have to warn you, there is NO RAPTURE.  Noah was on the earth during judgment, yet preserved.  Israel was IN Egypt during judgment, yet preserved.  Daniel was in the furnace and preserved.

The whole escapist rapture paradigm has done a great disservice to those who claim the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  They think salvation is a fire insurance ticket, and they will be disappointed.  I won’t belabor the point because there is ample information out there to support my assertion.  It is the second point I want to share with Joel that is markedly more important.  Joel said,

We desperately need a revival, a sweeping spiritual awakening, to put us back on the right track. Will it come? I honestly do not know. I’m praying — pleading — for the Lord to give us one, and soon.

Joel, I can tell you unequivocally, there is a major revival going on that started more than 30 years ago and is mushrooming across the planet, but because it doesn’t look like what you expect, you have overlooked it.  I would ask that you take a seat and hear me out.

If you will open your Bible and read the last chapter of the last book in the old testament, I’d like to show you something that I missed for years.  The entire chapter is clearly eschatological, but the last three verses will knock your socks off, because it is so contrary to what we have been taught.

[d]Remember the TORAH of Moses My servant, even the statutes and ordinances which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel.

“Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord. He will [e]restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a [f]curse.”

Joel, this isn’t an isolated verse or obscure reference.  It is the everlasting, unchanging Word of our God.  But we need more than one witness, right?  Here are a few more,

31 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. 33 “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, “I will put My TORAH within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the Lord, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

The New Covenant is with the house of Israel and the house of Judah.  Scripture NEVER says it is with anyone else which is why Paul declares that we need to be grafted in and explains why Jesus/Yeshua said, ‘I came only for the lost sheep of the house of Israel.’

Isaiah 2 tells us what Messiah Yeshua will do when He comes,

Now it will come about that
In the last days
The mountain of the house of the Lord
Will be established [a]as the chief of the mountains,
And will be raised above the hills;
And all the nations will stream to it.
And many peoples will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
That He may teach us [b]concerning His ways
And that we may walk in His paths.”
For the [c]TORAH will go forth from Zion
And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
And He will judge between the nations,
And will [d]render decisions for many peoples;
And they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not lift up sword against nation,
And never again will they learn war.

Brother,  Ezekiel 37 says the same thing.  After talking about the dry bones and the two sticks, we are told,

24 “My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances and keep My statutes and observe them. 25 They will live on the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and David My servant will be their prince forever. 26 I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will [h]place them and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever. 27 My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people. 28 And the nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever.”’”

We both know that this hasn’t happened, and we both know Yeshua/Jesus said, ‘Not one jot or tittle will pass from the Torah and the prophets until ALL is fulfilled.’

In fact, what I am laying before you s the foundation for THE most intriguing story in the history of the world.  Your novels are good, but Scripture and the redemption of All Israel by He who made the covenant is nothing short of breathtaking.  No escapism, no replacement, rather this amazing fulfilling of prophecy as He gathers from the four winds a people that will be obedient and walk in the light and faith of the Messiah!!

Is such a thing happening?  Yes!!  Starting more than 30 years ago, people began awakening to parts of God’s Word that Christendom long taught to be abolished or done away with, contrary to the words of Yeshua who said, ‘I did NOT come to abolish the Torah….’  Now, by a quiet move of the Spirit, there are hundreds of thousands, even millions who love and have faith in Messiah Yeshua while being obedient to the very simple life-giving instructions He gave from Mt. Sinai.  And, the revival is growing daily!

Look at this map:

finder-map

This is just one platform that helps connect Torah keeping believers in Messiah Yeshua.  I know hundreds in my state alone that are not listed on this map.  Seriously, prophecy promises this will happen as a people return in the last days to the ancient paths with great humility as they eschew the traditions of men and seek only to obey the King.

Joel, this is the revival you are looking for, but it does not appear as you expected.  I challenge you to dig in and research this thing.  Give it a fair shake as you open the word and talk to believers who have made this transition.  Particularly non-Jews!

Here are some articles, videos and posts that will feed your curiosity:

Undeniably, Joel, we are living in the most interesting of times.  We do need to be praying and seeking the Lord.  One of the questions we need to be asking is that He reveal truth, no matter the cost.  May He remove from us anything that would separate us from Him, even if it be cherished doctrines and traditions.
