The last few days I have been stuck in Isaiah 51. Much, much to ponder in this little chapter.
Promises to the sons of Abraham and Sarah. Promises to Zion. Promises to the exile, and promises to Jerusalem.
Torah, righteousness and Yeshua (salvation) mentioned in close proximity (v.4, 6, 7, 8). And, the Redeemed of Yehovah, those who know righteousness and who are obedient to Torah, will return with joy to an Edenic Zion.
May He reveal His strong Arm in our day and turn His anger upon the enemies of His people. Oh, God of heaven, come contend for Your people!! (22)
I know this is off the point, but I looked up the word “revile” and noticed that the root word is spelled with a gimel dalet pey. Foot Door Mouth. Could this be where we get the idiom “He put his foot in his mouth”? This word is mostly used to blaspheme YHVH.
