Generally, I consider myself to be fairly health conscious, though I know that I am a bit off on my breakfast habits. With a schedule that often starts before 4:30 a.m., I usually have two cups of coffee and a tablespoon full of peanut butter. Then around 8:30 I’ll follow it up with a protein bar and hold til lunch.
Well… I’ve completely had a lesson in breakfasts since being in Israel! Earlier I blogged yesterday’s breakfast with pics. Apparently, that was no anomaly!
Here is the first of two plates from three different buffets in the Legacy Hotel restaurant. (All included in the room!) I didn’t have the whole grain cereal this morning and missed it… But the huge selection of fresh fruits, juices, lox, cheeses, breads and salad fixin’s was wonderful! And, GOOD! Two cups of coffee and juice as well as an espresso really hit the spot.
I talked Connie into an espresso and as she sipped, she said, ‘Oh! I could get used to this!!’
We hit the road south for Qumran, Massada and En Gedi.. Pics in the next post.
You’re going to love En Gedi. The Ibex are AMAZING the way that they scale the (sometimes vertical) rock cliffs. Not that you won’t love the other locations, but I especially liked En Gedi. I am sure you two are having the time of your lives. Say hello to Hanoch for me!

Will do. En Gedi was so hot even the ibex went into hiding… we saw a few. What amazed me was the volume of eater from the spring in the desert. Wow!
More in next post. @ dinner now.

That’s too bad about the heat. I was there in November and the weather was perfect and there were MANY Ibex as well as Hyrax there and a lot of patches of green. By the way, I just saw a notice from Google. I was informed that it is your birthday today – is that correct? If so, what better place to be to celebrate it than in THE LAND!

Yep. Cleaned up and enjoying dinner outdoors now. Cool front has moved in and the breeze is almost chilly. Just wonderful.
