Ex. 14:19, The Angel of God and the Pillar of Cloud

Last week in my guest teaching at a local Sunday School, I mentioned this verse and briefly drew a connection between God (Exodus 13:18)

18 Hence God led the people around by the way of the wilderness to the [a]Red Sea; and the sons of Israel went up in martial array from the land of Egypt.

and, the Angel of God, (Exodus 14:19)

19 The angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them.

Well, today someone forwarded a terrific article to me that takes the connection miles further with Yehovah’s manifestation.  I definitely recommend it.  Connections to Yeshua drawn throughout!

    Hello Natsab 🙂

The “continued reading” section came up zero.

I will say based off the events in Parashas Beshalach this has nothing to do with jesus. And a proper reading of the verses between 14:1-22 clears up any confusion as to the purpose of the event taking place.

I’ve never heard a christian shoehorn jesus in a passage like this, so I’m curious to hear your take or explanation, if you care to elaborate?

      Shalom and welcome.

I will check the like. It didnt work on my phone, but know it worked on my desktop when I posted the article.

As to Yeshua’s connection, I would recommend searching my blog for ‘angel of the Lord,’ or ‘Memra,’ or listen to some of the sunday school lessons I have been guest teaching.

      Shavua tov.
