I have been enjoying Sue and John Wyatt’s excellent discussion and commentary on Torah in the Book of Acts. This post jumps into the middle at the generally misunderstood and errantly taught Acts 15 debate with a terrific presentation. There were a couple items I learned thsat I had not previously noticed!!

LOL. No, we learn together. So much still to discover that it would take several life-times.
One of the ‘ah-ha’ moments was your comment on Acts 15:24. I’ve read it hundreds of times (particularly since this chapter is so pivotal) and never noticed the very significant phrase, ‘some of our number, to whom we gave no instruction, have disturbed you…’ Wow, the entire Galatians brouhaha stemmed from men outside the authority of James taking it upon themselves to go teach doctrines of men.
Another ‘no-brainer’ that I had not considered is that the RCC teaches Peter is the first Pope, but he is not of the line of David. D’UH!! By their own admission the ‘Vicar of Christ on Earth’ is illegitimate! The Jerusalem Council had it right: Jacob (or James if you read an English Bible, but that is another discussion), half brother of Yeshua was the head of the Council and had the authority as Nassi.
There was another, but I don’t remember now.
It is these little gems now that get me so excited. Every tiny detail confirms what we teach.
