Well, an acquaintance sent me a picture from Jerusalem, and it tells about a thousand words…
It may be hard to get the message just from this pic, so, here is another of the beautiful snow a couple days ago in Jerusalem.
Here are a couple more interesting and glorious pictures that illustrate the same story, and of course… the story.
In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; 11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is [a]Christ the Lord. 12 This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a [b]manger.” 13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
The ‘moral’ of the story? (Or an abbreviated 1000 words, as told by the pictures?)
It is TOO COLD in December for shepherds OR flocks to be in the field at night!! Therefore, Yeshua could NOT have been born in December! And, especially not on the PAGAN high holy day of the 25th when legend has it that a number of “gods” were ‘born.’
Now, back to the beautiful pics that further illustrate this Scriptural truth!
