While it is true, there are far more false “profits” than the few few true Prophets, we should also leave room for modern day Prophets and “test them”accordingly.

Sure. Let them start their ‘prophetic’ declaration with the words “THUS SAYETH YHWH ELOHIM…”, AND, get ready to be stoned to death if their prophecy turns out false. This is how we ‘test them’ in Yisrael.
