The Blessings of Obedience to Torah

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto DSC_0250the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.  Blessed shalt thou be in ….. the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

Blessings have overtaken us!!  Almost more than we can handle…

Over and over in God’s Word we are promised that when we honor Him and obey His commandments, even the statutes and the ordinances, He will bless us.  My family has experienced His abundant blessings over the last eight weeks or so, not that He hasn’t been blessing us, but the recent abundance has been overwhelming.

Last Fall we determined that we had four does that we wanted to cross with a Saanen buck that has given some beautiful, if all white, kids. DSC_0255 So, we took our girls for their annual conjugal visit.  Assuming they were all pregnant, we decided that we would breed our six Saanen/Nubian yearlings to Blackjack, a Nubian buck from another part of the state.

We brought him here and, as God is my witness, in four weeks, I saw him only mount one girl.  Seriously!!  Now, he went through and over the fence to get to seven of our very young ladies that we determined were too young to breed this year.  Still, I never saw him perform his duties…  He just kept tearing the fence down.

We finally assumed he was a bust and just put all of the girls together.  Then sent him home.

As we watched the girls, we realize that only two of the first four had been bred, but they gave a combined six kids, mostly boys…  Good quantity, but only one girl.  Kidding season was looking like a bust.

Time passed putting us well into the window for the goats Blackjack was around and then one started to bag up, the first sign of a coming delivery.  (Size just means they’ve enjoyed DSC_0349the abundance of feed too much!!)  Then another, then another…  Until we were counting 16 pregnant girls!  Oh boy!!

Tonight, the next to last girl has given birth and we are swamped with milk, kids, etc…  We have had 27 kids and the vast majority of the last 21 have been girls.  Doelings are a real blessings, especially when good milk stock and in higher percentage than the bucklings.

Our blessing has been so much that one gentleman picked up two does today that he purchased before they delivered.  We quoted the price for bucklings and doelings and he agreed to pay for whatever the does delivered. Blessings of blessings, all four kids were the higher priced does.

Right now we have some mamas for sale and will shortly list some of the kids.  Our desire is that they are placed with families that want dairy goats, but he bottom line is that Abba has totally blessed us this year with a bevvy of kids, mostly does, in beautiful colors.  Now we are praying that He bring the buyers for the rest as He did with the first two that left today.

We should  not be surprised at the abundance from our Father’s hand, though it brings a lot of work and a bit of stress.  He Word promises over and over that when we keep His commandments, even the statutes and the ordinances, He will bless, and abundantly.  Christendom teaches otherwise, but they are at odds with the simple reading of the Word, from cover to cover.  Obedience brings blessings.  Disobedience brings curses.

Read Psalm 1 very slowly.  The same for Psalm 19, particularly the last seven verses.  Or, Psalm 119, all of it, but the first three verses set the tone for this glorious Psalm,

Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the TORAH of the LORD!   Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart,  who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways!

See also Deuteronomy 6-8; 28; 30; Leviticus 26, etc….

Scripture says that obedience to the statutes, ordinances and judgments brings blessings, regardless of what some pastor or theologian says.  I HIGHLY recommend studying out the Feasts of the Lord, Sabbath, clean eating, etc…  All, according to God’s everlasting and unchanging Word, are marks of righteousness and bring blessings.

Shalom!!

Well, we’ve been wondering why the posts from Pete have been fewer lately…now we know! You’ve been mighty busy! This was a fun post and a really good reminder of what happens when you’re obedient! Just wondering, did you get Gene’s book?
