God loves white and hates black. But, it doesn’t have anything to do with skin color.
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7
It has everything to do with the heart! Righteousness v unrighteousness.
Regarding skin color, God does have an opinion: He LOVES variety! All shades and tones from lily white to black as midnight. He has no preference, as long as they are walking in righteousness.
Think about it.
Everything He created comes in variety: flowers, beetles, rocks, deer, mountains, brooks, fish, etc…
Then, there is Israel. God started the nation with four genetically diverse mothers (Leah, Rachel, Bilhah, Zilpah) then added a mixed multitude as they departed Egypt. As if that was enough diversity, He promised to sow the house of Israel into the ends of the earth, then regather them without losing a single grain! This is why,
9 …. I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands;
Revelation 7:9
Variety!! God loves variety!
So, what of the brown Messiah?
Scripture does not tell us a lot about His appearance, though Revelation gives a few details.
12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands; 13 and in the middle of the lampstands I saw one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His chest with a golden sash. 14 His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15 His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters. 16 In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.
Revelation 1:12-16
Many try to claim a particular color based on this passage… It is a bit hard to tell though somewhere in the ‘well tanned’ to medium brown range seems to fit. But, does it matter? His focus isn’t ethnicity or color. His focus is righteousness as the rest of Revelation testifies.
As followers of the Messiah, we need to be careful not to be caught up in the whole media induced divisive frenzy concerning color. Messiah and all of Scripture says the color of the heart is what matters: righteousness!
Brothers and sisters of ALL shades and all ethnicities compose restored kol Israel.
[A necessary caveat: As explained in Ten Parts In The King, kol Israel (all Israel) is composed of the two houses, Israel and Judah, with differing prophetic destinies. However, God promises to bring the two back together at the end of the age. Currently, the house of Judah has largely returned to the Land as promised, the next point prophetically is an great expansion of that Land to the boundaries promised Abraham, and the return of the much larger house of Israel!]
Part of this restoration is learning to love and walk at peace with family of every color, shade, and physical ethnic difference. Spiritually, we are echad in Yeshua, and sons of Jacob!
Selah!
