Pete Rambo, 48, recovering seminary trained pastor.  No, seriously.  My background is pretty diverse.  I was raised on the missionfield in Colombia, SA by parents who love and serve the Lord.  Teen years, while living back in the US of A, I invested a couple of summers in mission trips to Mexico and England.  I have known since those days that I was to be in ministry, though ran from the calling for a long time.

I graduated from Erskine College and entered the US Army expecting to be a career officer.  Yahweh had other plans.  In the spring of 1991, after returning from Desert Shield/Storm with the 82nd Abn. Div., I met my future bride, Kelly, a dental hygienist for Dentac.  We married in January 1992 before I left for Ranger School.  I like to say our ‘honeymoon’ consisted of me visiting desert, mountains and swamps before graduating, while she stayed home to begin recovery from a near fatal parachuting accident involving 12,000 volts!!  Ah, the life of the military.

Needing to stay closer to her and help in her disability, I left the military in ’93 and bounced through various businesses and positions while avoiding the call to ministry.  Finally, in 1998, at the time of my father’s funeral, I submitted to my patient Father and went the ‘traditional route’ to seminary, etc.  In 2002 I graduated with a Masters of Divinity from Columbia International University’s Seminary and School of Missions and began pastoring a small Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in central South Carolina.  I was there for ten years and then after a short interim, I began helping to lead a Messianic Fellowship in Prosperity, SC.

During most of my life I have had a particular interest in eschatology (end times events/prophecy) and in understanding truth.  (I used to be a conspiracy theorist…  now, I am a conspiracy factualist…  )  In my quest, I began to run into pieces of information that challenged my very conservative traditional Christian religious perspectives.  Only when I began to pray earnestly for Yahweh to show me TRUTH did He move my focus from geopolitical events and onto a close scrutiny of what I now call ‘Churchianity.’ As I learned how far the Church had moved from the simplicity of the Book of Acts and the clear teaching of the Word, I became convicted of the need for a personal reformation.

I am still learning how to truly follow Paul (1 Cor. 11:1-2) in the Way (Acts24:14), but I believe much headway has been made through coming out of Babylon (Rev. 18:4) and embracing the Hebrew roots of my Messiah and walking as He walked.  The blessings I and my family have enjoyed as a result of obedience to the whole Word of God are innumerable.

My entries on this blog are for the purpose of sharing my journey as well as explaining that which I am learning.  Please read, enjoy, and even test what I am finding.  What do the Scriptures really teach? How does that compare to the doctrines and traditions of men that we have been handed?

May the Spirit of Truth guide and guard your heart.

Another quick note, Kelly and I now have a family of four boys.  We (She!) homeschool and raise the boys on a micro farm where, in addition to following Messiah, we can learn and practice skills in self-sufficiency as it relates to food.  We have dairy goats, a greenhouse wherein we raise tilapia in an aquaponic system, honey bees, raised beds, laying hens, fruit trees, etc…

Shalom.

Travis Hughey (soon as I can twist his arm enough…  but he is a lot bigger and wiser than I am…  LOL!)

Wow — didn’t know all this about you Pete . . . we were a part of a PCA congregation early on in our married life. We too felt called into the ministry pretty early, but were thankfully saved from the full seminary experience. In the end the Father had His schooling plan set out for us, and it has been much more rigorous than traditional work, and we didn’t have to take out a loan to embark on it 😉 It has cost less and more than we could’ve ever imagined, and we are so thankful. We would like, if the Father allows, to do some of the farming things that you are doing now. I am amazed at the widespread movement back to nature, back to the Word, back to home and family and desiring to walk with God — and it is not from an identifiable source. It has to be from the Spirit. . . and that is beyond awesome. Hallelluyah! Anyway, thanks for sharing. 🙂

      Hey!! Welcome!!

I LOVE reading your newsletter! So encouraging to see the Father’s hand in your lives as He places you where He needs/wants you!

Seminary… Yep. Ten years later and still paying for that… more ways than one! Glad you didn’t, but also recognize Father can use where we’ve been for His glory! There are some things I can say because I’ve ‘been there.’

Father asked us to sell our homestead last year. We did and are renting a place right now. Kept a few chickens and five milk does. Praying He again blesses us with a place to farm, but the temporary nature of our current situation makes the whole thing ‘interesting.’ Waiting on His leading for the next step.

      Shalom and blessings.

Inspiring messages. And it will take a while to go through all the information you’ve shared! Great info and photos. We should all be so industrious rather than relying on the engines of mass production and government. Bravo – on all your endeavors. It really does take a thirst for knowledge…and the intellect to grasp it to accomplish so much, and of course a strong work ethic (one which you are instilling in your boys – an exceptional gift). We certainly wish you and Kelly and the boys all the best in your journey… Thanks again for sharing…

  10. It is strange, the site at first glance gives us an impression that it it about Messianic Jews, but it is run by a trinitarian seminary trained pastor, though Jews like faithful real followers of Christ only worship One true God, the God of Abraham who is also the God of Jesus and his apostles.
So we wonder if you have found the truth and found that Jesus is the son of God and not a god son, and that you joined Jews who also found out that Jeshua is the long awaited Messiah?

I consider myself Biblical. I believe in Messiah Yeshua and walk as He Himself walked. When He comes, He will sit on the throne of David over the restored Kingdom of Israel and He will teach Torah to the nations. I have friends in the Netherlands who walk as we do if you would like to discuss and learn more.

Scripture is amazingly clear. No man can see God and live, yet over and over, from the Angel of the Lord and the Memra of the Torah, to Yeshua the Messiah of the Gospels, God manifests Himself in visible form. I do not claim to understand the mysteries of it all, but without wavering, I will state, Yeshua is the Holy One of Israel, the Redeemer and King. Isaiah ascribes all of those titles and positions to Yehovah….

      • Yeshua has many titles, like others can have also many titles, but that does not make him or some of the others the God of gods or Lord above all lords.

You have not provided ANY scripture and your argument is solely based on conjecture. Have you even asked for wisdom from Abba? Unless you go in prayer and in humility, be careful what you say. Is your life marked by miracles and love of rather, what are you trying to achieve through all this dialogue? Paul says all the promises of God and in Yeshua are yes and Amen, so, all the titles of Yeshua are yes:shepherd and the lamb, king and servant, etc. Are you unifying or dividing? Let’s fight the good fight with Yeshua in gathering for His Name as the Lord most high.

And to answer your question, just because Yeshua and others have titles doesn’t mean he has them all. If you read your bible and ask for His Spirit to open your eyes, you’ll see that actually, yes, HE DOES HAVE ALL THESE TITLES! 🙂

Yeshua is Yahweh Himself in human flesh, Isaiah 43(and42) I Yahweh am your Savior and there is no other. Paul refers to Yeshua our Savior, these people knew scripture better than us. Either Yeshua is who He said He is or not. This is our faith: that Yeshua is undeniably our Savior, Lord, God, Master. To question His divinity and oneness with Yah is contrary to scripture. Why would all of this not make human sense is because this is not a human logic understanding but a spiritual working that has to be accepted by faith and Abba Yahweh grants the Holy Spirit to awaken us.

  13. Erez you give the impression our thoughts can not be biblically proven, but have a look at the verses underneath which show very clearly that there is the Only One true God who says Jesus is His son and does not say it is Him, what He should have done if He does not tell lies.

“27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. 28 Ye heard how I said to you, I go away, and I come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go unto the Father: for the Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe. 30 I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world cometh: and he hath nothing in me; 31 but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.” (John 14:27-31 ASV)

“17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even until now, and I work. 18 For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God. 19 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner. 20 For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and greater works than these will he show him, that ye may marvel. 21 For as the Father raiseth the dead and giveth them life, even so the Son also giveth life to whom he will. 22 For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son; 23 that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father that sent him. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life. 25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live. 26 For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself: 27 and he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.” (John 5:17-27 ASV)

“ but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,” (Galatians 4:4 ASV)

“30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. 31 And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 And Mary said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God.” (Luke 1:30-35 ASV)

“21 Now it came to pass, when all the people were baptized, that, Jesus also having been baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, 22 and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. 23 And Jesus himself, when he began to teach, was about thirty years of age, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Heli,” (Luke 3:21-23 ASV)

“40 One of the two that heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He findeth first his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messiah (which is, being interpreted, Christ).” (John 1:40-41 ASV)

“25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messiah cometh (he that is called Christ): when he is come, he will declare unto us all things. 26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.” (John 4:25-26 ASV)

“5 Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness.” (Jeremiah 23:5-6 ASV)

“ Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14 ASV)

“18 I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.” (Deuteronomy 18:18-19 ASV)

“ who is on the right hand of God, having gone into heaven; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.” (1 Peter 3:22 ASV)

“20 which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church,” (Ephesians 1:20-22 ASV)

“ Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name;” (Philippians 2:9 ASV)

“22 For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son; 23 that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father that sent him.” (John 5:22-23 ASV)

The Bible tells us clearly that Jesus is the sent one from God, and nowhere does it says it is an incarnation of God.

Actually, Colossians 2:9 in Yeshua, the fullness of God dwells in bodily form.

Revelations 1: behold I am the first and the last,….then He says later, I am the first and the last, I died and have been raised again and hold the keys to death and Hades.

You’re dividing the word, dividing Yeshua, which Paul says to the Corinthians that Yeshua is not divided, and in old testament in Isaiah, God is Savior constantly. The word is the same throughout. Sir, what are you trying to do? You’re opposing truth to what end? Do you want people to pat you on the back and say what a great man you are or are you trying to give praise to Yeshua ? You’re gaining nothing but an argument and this is a fruitless conversation. I bless you and pray you find the Shalom you’re looking for.
