Sacrifice of the Paschal Lamb Returns to Jerusalem After Millennia [PHOTOS]

I have warned for a couple years now that the day is coming when sacrifice would begin again in Jerusalem.  This NOT a bad thing, in fact prophecy clearly teaches in Ezekiel 43 and following that when the Messiah comes, He will preside over the sacrifice in the Temple.  Other passages as we have explored before, also prophecy future sacrifice, contrary to Christendom’s assertion in the negative.  I have covered this in detail through a number of posts.  Here are just a few under one search term.

Well, today I read a jolting and deeply exciting article that portents again just how very very close we are to having sacrifice re-instituted which is a clear sign the Messiah is near.

Breaking Israel News reported yesterday that

Sacrifice of the Paschal Lamb Returns to Jerusalem After Millennia [PHOTOS]

koran-trumpet-768x644One of the highlights of the Jewish year, the Passover offering, is making a comeback. On Monday, a reenactment presented the Biblical commandment in its full glory, which is fortunate since many rabbis  believe that neglecting this important mitzvah (Torah commandment), even in the absence of a Temple, has grave consequences for Israel.

Just four days before Passover, the day the Bible commands Israel to bring a lamb to the Temple to be sacrificed,  a group of Kohanim (members of the Jewish priestly class) sacrificed a lamb on Mount Scopus overlooking the site of the Temple. The Kohanim wore ritual clothes conforming to Biblical requirements and were accompanied by music played on silver instruments specially made to serve in the Third Temple.

  1. So, just where does the Torah command the Passover lamb to be killed four days before Passover? All I can find is they are to be killed the day of. Hmm…..
Also, doesn’t Messiah Himself establish these rituals via the Zadokite priesthood after His return?

The article does say that it is a re-enactment with a model altar. Maybe the date change is to specifically not be exactly correct? Maybe also with not having a Temple constructed with an Ark, the decision is to not encroach on Pesach since they would not have everything just right? Maybe it was a practice know that they do have the Arc somewhere and hope to move forward in the near future with a Tabernacle?

That brings us to your second question: Some understand Daniel’s prophecy to indicate the daily sacrifice is being made at the time of the end. I don’t think we can rule that out as a possible scenario. And, as I have clearly stated a number of times, once ready, it only takes a small group of men with a lamb and stones to offer sacrifice on the Temple Mount. That will immediately polarize the world, vilify all Jews and Hebrew roots people and it will be ‘game on’ whether they do it correctly or not. Just read the coments on that article. Professing Christians get all foamy mouthed!!

The main point of the article is that they are ready, or very nearly ready, and anxious to return to daily sacrifice, something Scripture clearly teaches to be a future activity, though we may not perfectly understand the whens and whos.

I liken their faltering steps toward that goal with our faltering steps in keeping Torah. We all have much to learn, but I rejoice that each of us is moving in the direction of obedience.

Let’s watch this unfold and see what happens!

      Travis,

They want to make the sacrifice on the Temple Mount at the appropriate time but right now they don’t have permission from the government to do so. The government, of course, doesn’t want the real sacrifice to occur because they believe that it will trigger an all out war with the arabs.

      Shalom,

      Peter

      • I hear what you’re saying. I just don’t buy it as what some may think. Wondering where “practice sessions” are mentioned in Torah? It seems pretty clear in the text how it’s supposed to go. Remember, the day of Messiah will not occur until the “man of perdition” is revealed. As far as fear being the motive of not sacrificing, story old as the children of Israel not believing and as such spent 40 years wandering in the wilderness. Same story as recorded in John 11:46-53 fearing the Romans. Today it’s the Arabs? Could it possibly be the fact that the “Israel” (I contend actually Judea) of today is a state in rebellion to the ways of Elohim while approved by the world system of men (UN)? Remember, as recorded in Ezekiel 44, apparently the ones performing sacrifices at the time of Messiah’s appearance are not who He’s pleased with or apparently who He’s chosen to do so (sons of Zadok, see Isaiah 66:19-21). Patience. When Yeshua returns, He’ll call us home. He’ll, like Moses, show how things are to be done. Torah will then come from Jerusalem/Yeshua as it did from Moses. Until then, love Elohim, keep the commandments 😀.
