“all flesh”…. (Does that include errant theologians?)

While reading a post over at OMJ a couple days ago, a paragraph jumped out at me with its particular focus on the phrase “all flesh,” taken from Isaiah 66:23.

The paragraph that grabbed my attention:

Christians teach that the Jewish Shabbat has 4th-commandmentbeen abolished.  But a Messianic understands that this is a lie, that Shabbat is meant for “all flesh” and is the time that you can “know” G-d.  And, as a communal day, the only way we communal beings can really “delight” in Shabbat is by breaking off from the Christian sphere of influence and joining a community that worships on Shabbat.

And, that comes from Isaiah 66:23,

22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.

23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

Please explain to me again how it is that the Sabbath, instituted in the Garden of Eden by our unchanging God and prophesied by same Self-Existing One to exist for ALL FLESH in the future, has been ‘done away with’ or ‘replaced.’

Frankly, there is no case or any logic that surmounts the simple Scriptures.  NINE times we are explicitely told that the Sabbath is the seventh day.  No where EVER is a change prophesied or commanded.  In fact, precisely the opposite is the case.  See Isaiah 56, especially verses 6-7!!

OMJ has it right.  “Christians teach(ing) that the Jewish Shabbat has been abolished….is a lie”…  The yet future ‘all flesh’ prophesy proves this!

Tradition?  or Truth?

    Pete:

A couple weeks ago I was working with a younger man helping him with the house he is building for his family. He knew I was a Sabbath keeper, and he was not. He was a devout man though that loved the Father. After a day of work he came down from the ladder and said “It’s time you get out “the word” and show me why Saturday is the Sabbath”. My reply puzzled him “Saturday is not the Sabbath!”

Before any hear consider sending me a reply…….. I also said that “neither is Sunday, or any of the so called days of our week”. I then asked him “According to Genesis 1 when does His day start and stop?”. It was then he had to admit and realize that “God’s day” starts and ends at sun down. Then I suggested that if he only kept “a midnight to midnight” day of the week holy that he was not giving the Father a whole day at all.

Seeing his need to “pick” a real full day that started at evening to the next evening (and Daniel 7:25 where one came and changed the Fathers ordinances) I asked him to tell me which evening to evening he planned to start “keeping holy” for his beloved Saviour.

That next week he and his family entered into Sabbath with my family and I at sun set which occurred as the world’s Friday still had about 4 hours left in it. This last Sabbath he and his family entered in again at that time, came to my place for a Torah Study, and we closed the Sabbath at evening on Saturday (while the world’s Saturday still had 4 hours to go).

So maybe we all should “change the argument”, and rather first show non-Sabbath keepers that a day begins and ends at “sunset”. Why bother trying to debate Saturday vs. Sunday; because neither is fully the Sabbath. This exposes the enemy better anyway, the one who changed His ways in the past (days, months, appointed times…)
